On 01/07/2009 Humoud Al-Shayji has seen about 6 Skuas at Jahra coast, they included a Long-tailed Skua, and a Pomarine Skua.

This Long-tailed Skua would be the second record for Kuwait if accepted by KORC,  the first of which was on 27 May 1994 at Doha Point.

Rashed Al-Hajji has photographed a bird on 27/06/2009 that is probably an Arctic Tern, the third record for Kuwait if accepted by KORC

Rashed had also photographed a bird that could well be an Artcic Tern on 29 April 2009, his photograph is shown below.

On 10/05/2009 Rashed Al-Hajji found and photographed a Red-footed Falcon, a first summer male at Sulaibiya Pivot Fields. This is a second record for Kuwait and a first live bird. The first record was found dead by G. Gregory and H Merlet on 9/05/2002 at Hujaijah.

Today Rashed has found and photographed a Black Tern which constitutes the sixth record for Kuwait.

Among other birds found today was a Buff-bellied Pipit.

Buff-bellied Pipit 3, Eurasian Hoope 4, Greater Spottes Eagle 1, Steppe Eagle 1, Long-legged Buzzard 1, Tawny Pipt 4,  Grey Heron 1, Cattle Egret 2, Marsh Harrier 1, Siberian Stonechat 1, European Stonechat 1, Northern Lapwing 12,  White Wagtail 25, Namaqua Dove 2, Ruff 17, Water Pipt 17, Eurasian Skylark 8, Isabelline Shrike isabellinus ssp. 1.

At Al-Abraq Brian Foster and Pekka Fågel found a male Ring Ouzel.

2 Buff-bellied Pipit, one was the same bird of 5/12/07 (4th record) at the eastern side of the reeds, the other bird was at the western side of the reed at JEO, all seen by A.Al-Sirhan.
